Rawlplug subsidiary exhibits at 7th European Job Fair in Rzeszów

On 23rd October 2014, the 7th European Job Fair took place in Rzeszów, Poland. The Rawlplug subsidiary, Koelner Łańcut Screw Factory, was present to meet students and jobseekers.

What is the European Job Fair and who was there?

Organised by EURES (the European Jobs Network), the European Job Fair seeks to connect students and jobseekers to potential employment opportunities. Over sixty Polish and international companies were present as exhibitors at the “Podpromie” sports hall in Rzeszów. Koelner Łańcut Screw Factory (Koelner Łańcucka Fabryka Śrub) was joined at the event by high-profile companies and organisations such as WSK PZL Rzeszów (IT), Delphi Poland (Automotive), MTU (Insurance) and the Polish Aviation Works. The 7th European Job Fair was attended by over 2,000 people.

In addition to high-profile companies, students and job seekers from a variety of countries, the event was also attended by EURES advisors from Austria, Germany and Poland, who were on hand to provide attendees with information about international employment opportunities.

Koelner Łańcut Screw Factory – an influential exhibitor

Koelner Łańcut Screw Factory is among the most influential employers in Rzeszów and the surrounding region. The company is among the leaders in terms of number of people employed and also number of opportunities offered to young people and students. In 2014 alone, over thirty students and young people have taken part in internships or work experience programmes organised by Koelner Łańcut Screw Factory.

For jobseekers and students, events like the European Job Fair serve as a great opportunity to advance career prospects. Attendees are invited to discuss opportunities with recruiters and even submit their CVs and applications in person. Given this opportunity to benefit from direct contact with employers, it’s little wonder that the event is so popular for those seeking to advance their careers.

The importance of job fairs for Rzeszów and the surrounding region

Figures from the local authorities reveal that young people (25-34 years old) are most severely affected by unemployment, with over forty thousand currently out work. Overall, the rate of unemployment in Rzeszów is 8%. Rawlplug’s own observations from the European Job Fair indicate that the event was attended by a particularly high number of job seekers aged over 40, with a large proportion having returned to Poland after stints working abroad.

Rawlplug passionately believes in the value of events such as job fairs in strengthening its global workforce and contributing to local communities. Koelner Łańcut Screw Factory takes its responsibilities as an influential employer in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship (otherwise known as the Subcarpathian Voivodeship) seriously and strives to improve the employment opportunities for the local population.
